ESG Landscape for the Financial Services Sector

Seminar – The Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Landscape for the Financial Services Sector

Aims and Objectives:
Today’s business world is dynamic, global and governed by new priorities, such as the changing needs and requirements of various stakeholders; regulation requiring tougher disclosures on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues; climate change-related impacts affecting an organisation via increased insurance and operating costs; or social and governance issues requiring organisations to become more diverse, accountable and transparent. As a result, organisations, regardless of size, industry and location, are increasingly required to provide sustainability-related information to respond to these priorities.
By the end of the seminar, participants will gain an understanding of the current ESG reporting requirements for the financial services sector, the voluntary reporting landscape on ESG, how to identify and manage sustainability impacts, risks and opportunities, and examples of actions to implement to improve an organisation’s ESG performance.

Topics to be covered:

  • Introduction to ESG issues and the ESG regulatory framework for the financial services sector
  • The voluntary ESG landscape: standards, frameworks, ranking and ratings
  • The identification and management of sustainability impacts, risks and opportunities via gap analysis, double materiality assessment and strategy development
  • The use of training and technological tools in this space
  • Practical actions to improve ESG performance
  • Real-life case studies of organisations taking action
  • Future ESG trends

Participants’ Profile:

This seminar is addressed to employees in the sustainability/ESG teams, compliance and risk officers, customer relationship officers (lending officers), internal auditors and senior management of organisations in the financial services sector.
