From Investigations to Action: Can We Bank on Banking Commissions?
Free Invitation to CIFS Members
About this Event
The Banking sectors are not immune from greed, government and political interference in businesses’ decisions, lack of independence of board members, dependency between executive and non-executive Board members, a Corporate Culture conducive to nepotism, lengthy tenure on the Board and, political intervention. What makes a difference, however, is how one chooses to deal with such phenomena and the actions taken to ensure no similar events occur in the future. The colloquium shall focus on the experiences of the respective Banking Commissions recently in Cyprus and Australia and consider how each government has opted to act upon the Commission’s findings and recommendations.
